![]() To put it simply, spy is hard countered by general awareness and gamesense from a good team. (Not to mention how his role is made mostly redundant by Sniper.) Even if you manage to get a stab (say the demo or medic), you're usually obliterated by the enemy in less than a second, unless you're the sneakiest frenchman alive and leagues smarter than your opponents. That's mostly to do with spy's entire role being based around your enemies being unaware, or distracted from, your presence. And I'm also going to be ignoring the issues that could arise with some unlocks that these changes could bring, cause there are a couple that could also need buffed or nerfed with these changes in mind and I really dont want to get into that (this is taking long enough to type as it is).įirst off it's no secret that spy is horribly underpowered as far as competitive TF2 is concerned, in every format, even highlander, spies are typically at the bottom of the scoreboard (if they even show up on the scoreboard at all). I'd also like to say that this discussion will only be covering my ideas on how Spy's STOCK weapons could be changed, I don't want to go over the plethora of issues regarding most of the revolvers and a certain pocket watch. I AM NOT SAYING YOU HAVE TO AGREE, I AM NOT SAYING THIS IS THE ONLY WAY SPY COULD BE A GOOD CLASS. I am going to list my OPINIONS on how spy COULD be changed. You may think spy is fine as he is and is fun to play, or you may think spy is a broken, overly gimmicky wreck not deserving to be considered it's own class, and I'm not going to agree or disagree with you. I'd like to preface this by saying I'm not here to start an argument or breed toxicity.
